As this week comes to a close, I find myself a little emotional. It’s not just my last day, it’s the last day Biologix will be open here in Wichita.

They are moving the center to Tennessee. This is a great move for the clinic and patients. They will be able to offer additional therapies they can’t here (like IV nutrition). Some of the staff are making the move with the center, but several are not and saying goodbye to these beautiful people is hard.

Every time I come, I look forward to walking in these doors and seeing these faces. They are more than employees here, they are caretakers, companions, friends and encouragers. They always have a smile. They share stories of their lives, they share jokes, they hug and bring joy and laughter to some of the sickest, saddest, most miserable people on the planet – and somehow they do it without treating us like we are sick or crazy people, they just treat us like people.

That’s not a taught skill – it’s a love at the core of their hearts. And that’s the difference here.

Yes, what they do is extremely different – and their methods and therapies make a difference. But they only do it, against strong and threatening criticism from the medicinal community, because they truly love and have deep compassion for the people who come here.

So it is with a little sadness and many fond memories, we say goodbye to those staying. Our hearts will forever hold a piece of Kansas and the friends we have made here.
Our prayers are with each of you, staying and going, as you start this next adventure.
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD life up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
