My first round of TruDose (PRP) 8 weeks ago was set to target MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome).
I’ve been experiencing a major mast cell flare since then, which apparently is not uncommon. Mast cells are part of the immune system. They respond to specific pathogens by releasing different types of chemicals – most commonly known is histamine.
I more or less have an allergic reaction to the world. Yesterday, I walked past a Trader Joe’s – they had a bunch of flowers displayed on the sidewalk. My face, neck and chest immediately became red and itchy. Thereve been times when everything I eat or drink (even water) has caused a reaction.
Right now my symptoms are mainly skin related, rashes of different types and massive itchiness, but symptoms can also include throat tightening, fatigue, pain from increased inflammation, low blood pressure, racing heart, dizziness, digestive & neurological issues.
I am taking several remedies and meds to calm my system down: Jernigan Neutradwuticals allergen, aloe leaf, elderberry, cromolyn sodium, hydroxizine, benadryl, Zyrtec, and cortisone cream. These help, but it’s still fairly irritating.
I’m also treating:
- Babesia – it’s a weekly treatment, 4 days later I have a herx reaction, which causes increased pain, nausea and fatigue.
- Microclots – the TruDose may help, I also take a remedy from Italy that isn’t technically available here.
- Cervical instability- this continues to be a problem we don’t know how to fix. I’ve started a peptide for connective tissue but I don’t feel improvement, I’m not sure it actually would improve anything. I also do specific PT that focuses on nerves and muscle support. This is an issue doctors don’t know how to handle yet.
More to come at some point. For now, a major focus for us is calming the world. Its critical I find ways to reduced stress. My doctor recommended an extended stay in Bali. That’s not on the horizon but we do have a beach trip scheduled for the summer – might just have to make it a long respite.
