I saw this idea on FB and loved it. This person created a special place in her fridge for kid snacks that they’re allowed to access any time.

Snack Ideas:

  • Berries or pears (pears are super nutritions!) with nuts & cheese slices
  • Apples & nut butter (try these Apple Pizzas)
  • Homemade Nutella ( great on toast, apples, or banana ice cream below)
  • Freeze bananas and then blend to make ice cream
  • Veggies & dip (see hummus recipe)
  • Orange & kiwi slices
  • Celery with cream or goat cheese (top with raisins, pineapple, or cranberries)
  • Frozen blueberries with almond or oat milk (Califia makes one type with only 3 ingredients)
  • Sautéed apples or pears with cinnamon – top with nuts, coconut, & flax or chia seeds
  • Chia pudding
  • Cinnamon Raisin Bread
  • Zucchini Bites
  • Pizza (easy to make dough)
  • Muffins
  • Chicken Fingers
  • Home Made Rice Krispies (it’s a process but worth it)
  • Protein Peanut Butter Balls
  • Peanut butter oat bars
  • Fat bombs from Valencia peanuts
    • Note for fat bombs: make your own nut butter – roast raw nuts lightly and use a high speed blender to make it as creamy as you like. Use any nuts you prefer – I like walnut or pecan. Almond is great but can take a long time to get to a cream.
  • 3 ingredient hummus  – not all kids like hummus, but it’s great homemade!
    • 3 cups cooked chickpeas with water, 1 cup tahini, lemon juice – seriously yummmmm.
    • Use white beans for reduced carbs. Make your own Tahini.

Healthy Brands (you can often find these at Costco or Grocery Outlet):

  • Siete (all grain free – tortillas, chips, cinnamon chips, etc)
  • Dr. Praegers
  • Simply Mills
