The right exercise can be a helpful part of recovery. But for some of us, it can also set us back.
Below are some of my thoughts on exercising and types of exercise that can be beneficial. The most important thing I can recommend is to listen to your body.
Do what you can – give yourself a break when you need it – and don’t stress over any of it.
Too Sick to Exercise
Exercise is important. BUT when you’re sick, it can just be a little too much to do.
There are days when walking across the room is more exercise than my body can handle. I’ve had days when lifting my head off the pillow is too much. So when someone says I need to walk 30 minutes a day or do a yoga routine, there’s no way!
And guess what – that may not be the most important thing for your healing right now!
Give yourself a break! Don’t hold yourself to some high standard of exercise. If something works for you and doesn’t make you feel worse, go for it!
But if any amount of exercise is too much – then just stop worrying about it and focus on more important issues (like eating the right foods and detoxing).
