On May 22 and 23, Lyme disease supporters will be protesting in front of the IDSA (Infectious Disease Society of America) building in Arlington, VA in an effort to raise awareness about chronic lyme disease and fight for those suffering with the disease to gain critical medical attention they need.  (For more information on the protest, see the May Day site: http://www.themaydayproject.org/ )

If you think it doesn’t concern you because you don’t have Lyme disease? Think again.

This battle is not just about Lyme. It’s about the politics that impact all illnesses. It’s about the guidance documents that govern the practices of all doctors. It’s about the bureaucracy that oversees the way medical bills are paid (or not) by insurance companies. And while Lyme disease itself may not impact you personally, all of these things do now – and will in the future – impact your health in one way or another.

Below is a documentary that is educational about Lyme disease, but more importantly, better explains the message I am trying to convey. I hope that you will watch it, if for no other reason than simply because I’ve asked you to.

Thanks for your ongoing support and encouragement.
