“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.” ~Friedrich Nietsche
At one point, I had 135 symptoms related to Lyme and tick diseases that I’ve talk about with medical doctors who both treat disease and try to ease the symptoms.
I’ve realized there are other things going on that I don’t really consider symptoms – they’re issues that have just become part of life. I’ve chocked it up to age, injury, or even a condition resulting from a symptom caused by disease.
- I haven’t played the guitar in a long time – partly because it hurts my neck and hands, partly because it’s cognitively difficult
- I don’t wear enclosed shoes very often – I always say my feet feel claustrophobic (which most people think is nuts)
- I haven’t enjoyed being outside lately – we live in a beautiful house paradise, but sitting outside has felt overwhelming lately. Maybe it’s the sunlight, maybe it’s the colors, maybe it’s a reverse claustrophobia (too much open space).
I don’t tell doctors about these things because in the world of debilitating chronic illness, these are irrelevant.
My doctor here at Biologix has identified these challenges – without me telling him they are such. They are not priority issues that need to be addressed immediately and they are not things I’ve felt were important to tell him about, but they’ve come up through the scanning process nonetheless. He has worked on so many things since I’ve been here – and while I see big improvements in things like pain, dizziness, insomnia, I’m also seeing change in these things I’ve simply accepted as part of life.
Things we don’t put on paper or intentionally track as symptoms, and yet there is marked improvement.
My mind is blown every day by the incredible things being done here. I’m sure many people will think me crazy for “dancing to the music” and believing in the healing that happens here. But I see evidence every day that reminds me that the music is still playing.
