Earlier this year, I was given a gift that included offsetting some of the cost of my treatment. I will forever be thankful for having a piece of the financial burden lifted – but the bigger gift, the more effective gift, was simply knowing that someone saw my pain, saw my suffering, and wanted to help.

There isn’t a single, appropriate word to describe how valuable, worthy, and loved I felt – and still feel. That one act of kindness has taken me down a road I otherwise would not have taken.

Sometimes that’s all it takes to change someone’s life – just seeing a need and stepping in with compassion.

I’m so thankful to be on this journey. I don’t know where it will take me or what the end result will be – but I’m here just because someone believed in and took a chance on me.

Can you imagine what the world would be like if every person had someone who saw their need and offered to help?

Be that person.
