I keep improving – but then something happens, I don’t know what, and I start to feel like I’m going backwards. More pain, cognitive issues like word finding, I feel just yucky all over – I can’t always explain it. I just know I’m not ok and I’m scared that I’m slipping backwards.

It’s easy to chock it up to Lyme acting up, the coinfections kicking in or my body just not fighting. It’s easy to second guess yourself, thinking maybe you’re just being a wimp, just being lazy. At least that’s what I’ve been thinking this week – but that stops now!

I talked to one of my doctors today – I currently have multiple issues flaring up: mycoplasma overload, high histamine/mast cell reaction, and strep throat. The histamine over reaction is being exacerbated by a bug bite. We’ve had a ton of bugs lately – mosquitos, spiders, little flying things everywhere.

With Lyme + we can be affected so badly by the smallest things, things that others wouldn’t even notice. For us, a small bug bite can cause us to become bed ridden with pain and weakness for days or weeks.

I have so much to learn – but I know one thing for certain, I know my body better than anyone. I know when it doesn’t feel right. I know when it is struggling. I know.

I thank God I have a doctor team who trust me when I tell them I don’t feel well. They listen to me, and they are able to find answers and help me get past the current obstacles.

To my Lyme friends: listen to your body, it’s giving you clues. Trust your instinct, seek out answers, and never, never, never give up.
