“I hate losing even more than I like winning. And there’s a difference.” Billy Beane Moneyball

There IS a difference!

I’ve been seeing a naturopath who has slowly been getting me out of bed and able to do a little here and there.

The last few days have been very noticeable. It’s exciting. It’s encouraging. It feels like I’m winning the game.

But I know that sooner or later, something will cause me to crash. That is a type of losing that cuts deep in the soul.

It’s got me thinking – yes I want win, but it may be more important NOT TO LOSE!

I always look at my protocols as being the important factors in winning. The meds and supplements I take, the therapies I do, the doctors I see – these are all the things that help me win.

I’m realizing I also need to work on NOT LOSING by doing the things that keep that from happening.

  • Don’t overdo.
  • Listen to the body and rest when it says it needs to.
  • Avoid stress – keep the mind and emotions calm.
  • Respect sleep. When insomnia hits, accommodate with more rest the next day.

We tend to focus so much on winning that we forget not to lose.

Maybe that’s where the change needs to happen. One day at a time.
