While the main purpose of this trip is to get help for my neck, we are using this time to do several other things: see the sites, connect with each other and visit with family.

Today and tomorrow are just for that.

Visited this morning with my great auntie Sharon and briefly with my cousins Evan and Cole (who I haven’t seen since he was about 13 – now 30).

The drive to Auntie Sharons house.

One of the interesting things to me is how different the landscape looks from state to state. Event the deserts of New Mexico and Arizona are vastly different from each other. The flatlands of Kansas and Okalahoma – very different.

OK is humid and it rains more often than you’d think. So it’s very green.
I just like this.
And again across Dayles River (Arkansas)

Fort Smith, Arkansas

Such a charming downtown. The architecture here is amazing!

Dave’s cousin Richard and his lovely wife Stephanie are letting us park our big rig in their driveway a couple nights.

They’re such good people and I’m really happy to get to know them both better.

We’ve been strict on our diet so it’s been a week since we’ve shared a meal with anyone else. Tonight we feast. Well – still staying true to the food, but happy to enjoy it with company!
