2 months to the day since we arrived in Florida, we left to head home. I’ll be back in a couple of months for more treatment, for now, we’ve been gone from home longer than we’d like and we want to get back.
One of our daughters and our grandson came to visit for a week – it was awesome to share Florida with them. We picked shells off the beach, jumped waves, touched star fish at the Imaginarium Aquarium and took an airboat ride through the Everglades (surprising smooth but incredibly loud).
We got to see alligators for the first time at the Everglades. On our last day, a gator surfaced in the pond where we were staying.

There are beaches on small islands off the causeway that connects the mainland to Sanibel and Captiva Islands. There were often dolphins passing by.
Time with Good Friends
When I was 11, we moved to Camarillo, CA where we lived across the street from a woman who became my moms best friend. She has been such an influential person in my life that I named my first daughter after her – Sandy.
My girls and I moved to NorCal in 2002 and life brought her north too – about an hour from us. She now lives in Florida. We spent our last night in Florida having dinner and visiting with Sandy & her boyfriend Tom. Oh my heck what a great time we had!
I didn’t get a picture – but we will see them again when we come back and I’ll share one then!
Georgia

South Carolina
We stopped for the night at a restaurant area in So Carolina. One of the things that fascinates me is how much the landscape changes from one state to another. This state has the worse roads so far – Florida has the worst drivers (they run red lights all the time) but the roads were smooth.

Next we are heading to Raleigh and then will start making our way west – visiting family along the way.
