No one seems to know how or why, but it’s clear to many that the cycle of the moon can impact the body both physically and emotionally. Some people don’t notice any change – but Lymies often experience an increase in symptoms during the full moon.

Last night, Nov 8, was not only a full moon, but a blood moon as well. The blood moon happens when the moon is hidden on the far side of the earth so that the sun‘s rays pass through the earths atmosphere before reflecting off the moon. The diffused light gives the appearance of red or orange.

While the full moon often affects me a little, it has been extremely noticeable the last couple of days, particularly yesterday. Pain is high, I am weak and fatigued, my stomach is upset and I just feel icky (yes, that’s a symptom).

If you think about the affects the moon has on the tide, you can understand how our bodies (made mostly of water) could also feel the pull of the moon during different phases.

Below are a couple of links to articles that have good info on the affects of the moon. My point of this post is to say that if you feel worse during a full moon cycle, there is a connection and it’s ok to take care of yourself on those days.

There are apps that help track the moon cycles. But just knowing when it’s happening may help you plan for down days.

And remember: today is just one day – tomorrow may be better.
