I joined some Lyme groups in the hopes of learning what others are doing for long term, chronic Lyme-+.
There is only one thing everyone agrees on – the testing is flawed and unreliable.
Other than that, there seems to be a lot of bickering about treatment protocols. There are those who insist, that 6-8 weeks of doxycycline is the only thing you can do.
What’s disappointing about that is that doxy can help some tick-borne diseases – but there are numerous infections and conditions that cannot be helped by doxy.
I’ve personally done many medications, remedies and therapies. I couldn’t tell you any one thing worked well for any one infection or condition.
Lyme+ is an extremely complex sickness. My doctor calls it whack a mole – we hit whichever issue pops up. That’s based on symptoms, not testing.
There is a lot we can do ourselves to help our own bodies fight infection and stabilize (which we are designed to do!).
But if you are going to try to combat each of the various diseases – you’ve either got to do a ton of research into each or find a Lyme literate medical doctor (LLMD) who can guide you. They are the experts. They know Lyme+ and can weed out the various infections and conditions that can accompany Lyme.
