The Importance of Detox
The most commonly used explanation of toxic overload is the Bucket Theory. A bucket half full can be carried without sloshing water out the top. A full bucket is heavier and you will spill when you carry it. Put a hose in the bucket and it will overflow on its own.
It’s the same with toxins in our bodies.
If your body is removing as many toxins as it takes in every day, you may never feel symptoms of toxicity.
If you are taking in more toxins than your body can eliminate, they will overflow into symptoms (pain, digestive upset, fatigue, weakness, etc).
For those of us who have been sick a long time, our bodies tend to hold on to toxins more than we should. Our detox pathways do not work as well – our cells become inflamed, reducing the ability for toxins to get out – and toxins build up in tissues and muscles where they get stuck.
